Thinking of hiring a hot tub but not sure what you need to get ready?

If it’s your first time, don’t worry — the process is much simpler than most people expect. In fact, as long as you have three key things covered: space, power, and water, you’re almost ready to go.

This guide will walk you through everything step-by-step so there are no surprises on the day.

1. Make Sure You Have Enough Space

The first thing to consider is where your hot tub will go.

Our largest hot tub (6–7 person) requires around 2.2m x 2.2m of space. This area needs to be:

  • Flat and level
  • Strong enough to hold the weight (especially when filled with water)
  • Clear of sharp objects or obstacles

Good surface options include:

  • Patios
  • Decking
  • Artificial grass
  • Solid, even lawn areas

💡 Pro tip: Leave a bit of extra room around the tub so you can move freely and place steps or accessories.

2. Power Requirements (Simpler Than You Think)

All of our hot tubs run from a standard 13-amp plug, so there’s no need for special wiring.

The cable is approximately 7 metres long, so your setup area needs to be within that distance of a socket.

Important things to note:

  • The hot tub must stay plugged in 24/7 during your hire
  • An outdoor socket is ideal
  • Indoor sockets can be used, but a window or door will need to stay slightly open

💡 Tip: Avoid using extension leads — this helps keep everything safe and running properly.

3. Water Access

Your hot tub will need filling when it’s set up, which is straightforward.

You’ll just need:

  • A standard garden tap
  • A hose pipe

Filling typically takes 1–2 hours, depending on water pressure.

An Extra Tip – Choosing the Best Location (Often Overlooked)

Where you place your hot tub can make a huge difference to your experience.

Try to choose a spot that is:

  • Private and sheltered
  • Close to the house (especially in winter)
  • Away from overhanging trees (to avoid debris)

💡 Many customers place their hot tub on the patio just outside the back door — it’s convenient and works perfectly.

What Happens on Installation Day?

A lot of first-time customers aren’t sure what to expect — so here’s a quick breakdown:

  • We deliver and set up the hot tub for you
  • We leave you to fill it using your water supply (all you’ll need to do is to close the tap, once filling is finished)
  • We leave you to start the heating after the hot tub is filled up
  • We talk you through how to use it / how it all works just before we go

After that, you just let it heat up and enjoy.
